        Hi All,

        I’m facing a frustrating experience with my reimbursement claim from StarHealth, and I’d appreciate any guidance or if anyone encountered a similar issue.

        Throughout the process, It is frustrating that I’ve had to constantly follow up via customer care to get any updates.

        Last week, I was told that 2 lakhs of my claimed amount was approved and that the final approval would be available in a week. However, when the final approval came through, the amount was reduced to 1,18,000.

        Upon enquiring, the customer care representative mentioned something on the lines of “the amount paid via a credit card was not approved”. This was unexpected, so I asked for the final approval letter, and I found the following details:

        * **Particulars:** 4a.ii) Medicines – Outside Hospital
        * **Amount Claimed:** β‚Ή1,28,291
        * **Non-Payable:** β‚Ή1,28,291
        * **Disallowance Reason:** *CREDIT BILL NOT PAYABLE*

        All the medicines were purchased from the hospital pharmacy itself, so I don’t understand why they mentioned as “outside medicines.” Additionally, I used my credit card for the payment, but I’m not sure why that can be used to reject as it is my credit card.

        Has anyone faced a similar issue? What are my options, and is there a way to challenge this decision? Any advice on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated.

        Thanks in advance for your help!

              File a complaint before Insurance Ombudsman

                Almost all private insurance companies try not to settle claims property you have to fight for your rights Get whatever they are willing to disburse do not sign any claim settlement letter to your satisfaction and then raise a dispute they will ultimately pay the whole claim

                    I won’t, even for the amount they “approved” , they are delaying by asking to submit cheque, photo etc which i already submitted.
                    I am going to write to their grievance email and if there is no reply I will raise a complaint in irda. i am not sure if there is any better approach. which is what I am seeking from this post

                        As you are a consumer carefully keep the communication record and if nothing fruitful happens or your claim is not settled fully file a consumer complaint in court but take whatever they offer without signing any settlement bond

                      Did you opt for cashless and then pay some part of the bill via credit cards before star settled the claim with hospital?

                        I’m an insurance advisor. It doesn’t make sense to me. Call customer care and ask them for reason. If no proper response, send email to nodal officer and ask the reason. IRDAI is last step if your issue is not solved.

                            so I noticed this today. one of the documents I submitted while claiming is ledger from pharmacy.

                            It has 4 columns mainly ,
                            Particulars , Debit , Credit , Balance

                            not sure if every pharmacy follows this but Credit here means credited to patients pharmacy account.
                            It basically records that we paid the amount.
                            At the end total credit is β‚Ή1,28,291 . That we paid the amount.

                            My guess is that some dumbass ( or evil asshole ) saw the word credit and simply rejected this without even looking fully at this or other payment bills we submitted.

                            Anyway, I have sent an email to their GRO email [gro@starhealth.in](mailto:gro@starhealth.in)

                            I got automated email with a complaint number and message saying “**Your representation would be reviewed with due diligence by our designated officer would respond to you in the next 14 days to communicate our decision/status.**”
