UHey everyone,
I need some urgent advice. My phone was stolen on the morning of February 13th, while I was driving. I had my phone set up in Samsung Secure Mode, and the thief hasn’t contacted me, so it seems like they have no intention of returning it.
I immediately filed an FIR and contacted the police. The phone’s location is still live and I can track it using Samsung Find My Mobile. I even ran to the spot where I saw the location (around the afternoon of February 14th) but because it was a crowded area, I couldn’t pinpoint the exact house. The police came with me, but they said that with just the GPS location from Samsung, they can’t enter anyone’s house. They also mentioned that they need the IMEI number for more serious actions, but even then, they couldn’t do much.
I called 1930 for further help, and they either told me to go to the nearest police station or that they could send police to my location, but given my earlier experience with them, I don’t think it would be worth it.
Right now, I can still see the live location, but I’m stuck because the police are limited in what they can do with just the GPS info. I don’t want to confront the thief myself, but I’m not sure what else to do.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? Any suggestions on what steps I should take next? I just want to get my phone back and feel like I’m hitting a wall with the police.
