Police doesn’t mean you necessarily have to involve the whole family(father won’t get to know), there are ways this could be handled very easily. Very common things these are.-

March 9, 2025 at 6:53 amThereβs no fixed step-by-step process that suits every case. Life isnβt that structured, and situations evolve. The right approach depends on what the victim wantsβwhether she is looking for a foolproof, permanent solution or if she just wants to end things mutually at the police station. The best way is to go with a trusted and diligent lawyer to the police station. A good lawyer knows how to handle this in a way that keeps things discreet while making the guy realize the serious consequences.
Step 1: Approach the Police Informally
With the lawyerβs help, get the police to call him in for questioning without filing an FIR.
A little money can ensure the police scare him properly by explaining the strict laws (BNS, IT Act) and consequences like possible jail time.
If done right, this alone is enough to make most guys delete everything on the spot from phones, cloud storage, emails, etc.
But Hereβs the Reality…
Even if everything seems settled at the police station, thereβs always a risk:
Deleted files can be recovered.
Videos might have already been shared with close friends or cousins.
Once the file leaves the source device, no one has control over itβnot even the guy who recorded it.
Why Many Cases End in Jail Anyway
In many cases, sending the guy to jail is the only real solution because fear and shame change people like nothing else does. Once he:
βοΈ Gets humiliated in front of his family and society
βοΈ May lose his job
βοΈ Faces the reality of jail, court hearings, bail conditions, and paying a lawyer lakhs (in metros) just to get out of the legal mess
β¦ the transformation is magical. The best part? This can be done discreetly without involving the victimβs parents. A skilled lawyer can help navigate this legally while keeping everything under wraps.
So, the real question isnβt what the step-by-step process isβitβs how far the victim wants to take it.

March 9, 2025 at 2:02 pmThanks for such a detailed and easy to understand guideIn case the gender is reversed, like a girl is blackmailing a guy then can the same steps be taken?

March 10, 2025 at 8:35 amIf a girl blackmails a guy like this, the guy’s life is pretty much over. Nothing he can do. Police will first laugh at him, insult him, and then send him away. Most likely they won’t even take his complaint. Your only way if at all is a private complaint through a lawyer, but be ready to have to prove each and every single details of the allegation with solid evidence. Otherwise you’re screwed.-

UUser_1267e6eb

March 9, 2025 at 6:59 amShe is to blame to some extentβnot for the crime itself, but for trusting the wrong person, ignoring red flags, and being naive. Bad choices have consequences. This isnβt about victim-blaming; the guy is the real criminal here and should be punished. But letβs be honestβwhy do people ignore obvious signs of toxicity in relationships? Why are we so blind in our day-to-day lives instead of seeing reality as it is?
God has given humans a mindβwhy not use it? Being observant and aware is basic common sense. People need to stop living in some fantasy and start recognizing when someone is a threat. A little caution can prevent a lifetime of regret.
The priority now is handling the situation and ensuring she doesnβt suffer long-term damage, but sheβand everyone elseβshould take this as a lesson to be smarter about who they trust.

March 9, 2025 at 2:00 pmI think you got my point in the wrong context. The guy is 100% the villain hereβno debate on that. My point was never to blame her for his actions, but to highlight how people can protect themselves from such situations in the future. That said, I like the way you analyze things instead of just reacting. Not many do. So tell meβwhere do you draw the line between trusting someone and being cautious in a relationship?
-
UUser_b9e2896c
PARTICIPANT
March 9, 2025 at 2:53 pmBy suggesting any blame on her you’re cutting slack to the criminal. She had no knowledge of being recorded and it’s not like she trusted him and consented to making intimate videos for his phone. She wasnβt aware the video was being taken at all and his actions are CRIMINAL. In this situation, by being cautious do you mean uncomfortably look around for cameras while in action or straight up ask him “hey do you have any hidden cameras here?” Do mention what she should have done practically, actionwise.-

March 8, 2025 at 5:46 pmWell it’s not really an abuse in my eyes. For me laws are like a weapon made for protection. Think of it as showing a gun the chances are you don’t have to use it if you draw it, even if you fire the gun for protection it’s not abuse it’s actually self preservation. If you use it to law to harass someone or to break someone that’d abuse. -

March 9, 2025 at 1:33 pmLaws are for the poor not for the rich. Money is the ultimate truth, for the poor a crime of even driving with a helmet is a punishable offence but for a rich even murder is just like paying a fine. Laws are not made to protect the weak and poor they are made to protect the rich and powerful.

March 9, 2025 at 1:41 pmI believe there shouldn’t be a law like that. Forcing someone in marriage is a bad idea. If women have a way to blackmail men into marriage doesn’t mean men should have the same right inside those kinds of rights should be taken away from them.

Secondly, if you don’t wish to involve the police ask her to visit the police station and offer some money to a lady police officer and request to help her deal with the situation and then she’ll take care of it.
These are only two options left and if she is scared then hire a lawyer, pay him the amount and I am sure, he’ll be able to deal with it without much hassle.

March 8, 2025 at 8:27 pmHe will not do it because, even after sending it to his father, it is not like her father will kill him; instead, his father and/or the police will make his ass look like a monkey’s and other things. Just let him do it.He also knows that his life will end if he leaks the video, so he would never dare to do this. It is a manipulation tactic.Keep your distance from him, tell him to do as he pleases, and remind him that my father is my father at the end of the day. He will not kill me, but he will definitely make your life miserable, so think twice before acting. -
