Traffic challan increased in virtual court

I was driving my father to the hospital and broke a traffic rule so I was issued a challan worth 2500 rupees (1000+1500). I forgot to pay it due to frequent hospital visits and now it was sent to virtual court. The court increased it 4000 (1000+3000). Is there any way to decrease it? Also, once challan is sent to virtual court, can it not be settled in Lok Adalat?
