        * We are 3 sisters (2 sisters are married) and 1 brother. 2 sisters elder, then brother, and then 1 sister. Our father passed a long time ago.
        * where we live in east UP, only men get ancestral property. that’s the tradition, that’s the way things just are.
        * unmarried brother changed genders a few years ago, so now she is a sister too.
        * Our land was on rent, and brother turned sister is getting the money.
        * I suggested to brother turned sister to divide the money among the sisters, since she is now female as well. she laughed then agreed.
        * But no money ever came. When I brought this topic to mother, she said Brother turned sister is angry about this and it is her land after all. Mother is taking her side.
        * Our elder sister is ambivalent about the situation. Me and the younger sister want the ownership of the land of our share.
        * An embarrassing admission: me and the younger sister once manhandled the trans-sister and threatened her with violence. Since then she doesn’t want to talk directly to us.
        * What to do? How to proceed about this situation?
        * Note: I had previously posted on a incorrect reddit space.

I believe it’s case for personal property not for the ancestral one

Assuming it is not ancestral property, mother is only entitled to a portion of her husband’s estate. Ofcourse, she can will her portion to whomever she wishes to.

According to Hindu law, you’re entitled to your share in the property. But I’m pretty sure your husband also has multiple sisters β€” maybe start by giving them their rightful share in his property too. That way, when you go to court, the judge can see how you and your sister are setting an example by giving your husband’s sisters their fair share in the family property.

Courts make decisions based on laws or whether OP practices what she preaches? Is this a court or some panchayat?

This is such a weird fusion of liberal but backward mindset.

Didn’t you post this yesterday? Didn’t get enough karma? Or people called you out too much for posting a fake ‘it is the local practice’ post?
