March 16, 2025 at 5:12 pmIssue with UniAcco: Unfulfilled Cashback and Refund PromisesI am currently facing an issue with UniAcco, where they have failed to honor their promised cashback and refund commitments.
1. ยฃ250 Cashback Delay:
When I booked my accommodation through UniAcco, I was promised a ยฃ250 cashback within a month of moving in.
Initially, I was assured by a UniAcco representative (Aditya) that the cashback would be processed within a month.
Later, both Aditya and another representative (Crystal) informed me that it would be disbursed by December 2024 (three months after my move-in).
Now, despite December passing, I have been told that it will take an additional 30 to 45 working days, which is a significant and unreasonable delay.
2. ยฃ50 Processing Fee Refund Issue:
Along with the cashback, I was also entitled to a ยฃ50 processing fee refund, which has not been issued despite multiple follow-ups.
3. Evidence:
I have screenshots of chats, emails, and written communications from UniAcco representatives confirming the promised cashback and refund.
Legal Questions & Advice Sought:
Can I legally demand compensation for this repeated delay and failure to fulfill their commitment?
What are my rights as a student who was given a written assurance?
Would it be possible to take legal action (consumer complaint, small claims court, or other legal routes) against UniAcco for failing to deliver the promised cashback and refund?
Is there a way to escalate the issue to a student consumer rights body or any regulatory authority in the UK/India that oversees such cases?
Any legal guidance or suggestions on how to proceed would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

April 25, 2025 at 12:28 pmI had a terrible experience with UniAcco as well while trying to book my student accommodation (Canvas City Point, ยฃ119 pw).
After paying a ยฃ50 service fee โ which no other agent/partner charges โ I was promised smooth processing, cashback offers, and transparent communication. Instead:* My booking has been pending for over 2 weeks with no clear updates.
* I was misled regarding referral bonuses and cashback conditions.
* The assigned agent (**Calvin**) used abusive language (“fuck you” via WhatsApp) when I demanded accountability.
* Calvin also misbehaved with my referrals, giving false promises and disrespecting them.As a student who trusted UniAcco, this experience has been extremely disappointing and stressful.
**Students booking accommodation, please stay alert and careful.**
I have formally demanded a refund and escalation to UniAcco’s management. Waiting to see how they handle this โ but wanted to raise awareness.**Update to follow based on their action.**
