UPDATE: Received ₹1 Lakh Compensation from RBI Ombudsman for 2 years Of Mental Harassment & Banking Malpractice But I Don’t Think It’s Enough – What Should I Do Next?

  After escalating my complaint, the RBI Ombudsman directed the bank to compensate me ₹1 lakh for the distress and malpractice.
  
  Now, I need some advice:
  
  1. Should I pursue further legal action against the bank for the emotional and academic damage I suffered?
  
  2. Can I seek additional compensation for financial losses and mental agony beyond what the RBI Ombudsman granted?
  
  3. Would it be worth filing a case in consumer court for additional damages?
  
  4. How can I ensure the bank doesn’t retaliate or negatively impact my credit score?
  
  Any legal or financial advice on how to proceed from here?

  The bank must have got some documents signed from you which would have included an indemnity bond signifying you are satisfied with compensation being paid and would take no further action against the bank So I think now you should move on

    They have asked me to sign but I have refused them straight on their face that I wouldn’t because the amount of mental agony I have gone through the last two years can’t be compensated with one lakh.

      Okay in that case you will have to find some similar cases where the compensation has been much more and file a consumer court case but one advice as this bank will keep on appealing to higher court when you win the case so be prepared for a long battle

    Dude, you will spend more in legal fees without a guarantee that you will be paid 2 lakhs. This unless you can quantify how you arrived at 2 lakh compensation.
    
    Take this as a win.
