Urgent! A friend is framed in hit and run case

One of my friend got into an accident on a highway because a girl was crossing road and stopped midway causing crash however, there were no major injuries to either of them, just a few scrapes and bruises on both people so they decided to let this go.

Now 2 days later he gets the call from a local police station saying someone clicked pictures of accident, he goes there and the girl’s father (as per the man’s claims) who was already present there said that the injuries were major and she’s not able to walk properly, so he asked for medical reports, pharmacy bills, etc. for legal work and insurance claim. But they are not providing it, neither is girl coming nor they are willing to let my friend’s side meet the girl.

This happened for all day long at night the man said that they will withdraw the case if my friend paid 8K as damage compensation which he agreed, but for some staff issue it couldn’t be done that day, so they decided to do it next day.

Now next day the girl’s father again starts throwing tantrums and is now demanding 35K, still not willing to share any medical reports or anything neither letting them meet the girl in person. And my friend outright refused to pay anything this time.

Now furious the girl’s father stormed out of the PS the case is hanging.

How should he proceed? There’s no video evidence or anything similar

Threaten to push this to court. He might just chicken out.

They are trying to scam you. Don’t agree to pay anything now. Don’t ask them for medical reports or bills. Just say that your advocate will deal with it in the court.
