April 19, 2025 at 2:50 pmThis all started 2 weeks back. My mother randomly got a wapp message from a random pakistani number where the sender sent the pan card pic of one of my father’s office colleague (say Y), and basically said “tell your husband to repay the money lent”. Mom ignored it and blocked the number. Now suddenly since 3-4 days, the sender from another pakistani number is sending morphed explicit pics of my mom and Y in compromising positions and saying to repay the loan. In a fit of panic, my mother blocked the number again. Our family is worried immensely of those pics getting leaked please advise what to do. We are from the state of WB. Context: 1. We dont have contact with the office colleague Y since 8-9 years. 2. There is no possible links between my mom and Y 3. No my father has not taken any loans. -

April 19, 2025 at 2:54 pmSomeone your family know is blackmailing using foreign number. Depending on the severity of deepfakes – I would suggest file a cyber crime police complaint. Try to see if your father ex colleague shows up in verbal communication if police talks to them under false pretense-

April 19, 2025 at 3:02 pmIt is very severe. But the guy is not receiving any calls. On the topic of registering a cyber complaint, we dont have any evidence as such. what to do?-

April 19, 2025 at 3:14 pmWhat other evidence you need ? You will be filing complaint against unknown persons at this point. Police will investigate and since the photos are of your parents colleague – he will be questioned.Let me guess – your familyโs dumps all photos on internet?

April 19, 2025 at 3:16 pmAFAI understood, you need like a ss atleast of the guy sending the explicit pics. I dont have that ss. So like what should i put in the evidence list? I didnt understand your comment of dumping on internet.-

April 19, 2025 at 3:53 pmDon’t panic. The guy is in serious trouble because any stuff pertaining to effecting dignity of women is serious offence in IPC. Perhaps outright criminal and jail time etc. So wait for correct advice.-

April 19, 2025 at 3:57 pmYea well known in legal circles. If the guy is identified and caught he would be even extradited from another country.

April 19, 2025 at 6:33 pmBro. You can file a cyber complaint without knowing who the culprit is. Example, If your house gets robbed when no one is at home, you can still file FIR for theft, even though you don’t know who the Thief is. It’s the same logic. The evidence that you have is the morphed images of your mom. Cyber police will prevent those images from being uploaded on the internet. It’s about your mom’s dignity. Cyber police gets thousands of similar cases. There is nothing to be ashamed from them. The worse case scenario is that those images get uploaded in the net. So please act fast

April 19, 2025 at 4:35 pmFile a cyber complaint online. You can also visit your local station and file a written complaint. Provide all the details of what happened and the actions that your mother took, her fears, etc. Police have technical expertise to obtain details. So called Pakistan numbers can be spoofed.Someone from your inner circle or acquaintances may have a hand in these events. You can also contact whatsapp, but the police investigators will be able to handle that.

April 20, 2025 at 3:50 amNAL . This is exactly the point . Your family worried to death about deepfakes leaking and scammer using that opportunities to extract money . Your mom has not done anything wrong . Go and complaint to cyberpolice and at any point do not give scammer any money -

April 20, 2025 at 4:15 amSo one of my friends took a loan from a Chinese loan app, and that chinese app took contact access from his phone and started blackmailing him, 1st they sent edited pictures of him with some other dude to his family and started blackmailing them, then they went after his female contact list and started editing photos of them using WhatsApp DPs and blackmailing them similarly. I can see the similarity here as well. -

April 20, 2025 at 6:27 amThings are rarely random. Your parents have probably taken a loan from those Chinese lender apps.
You’ve been advised to file a cyber police complaint but I don’t think there’s going to be any investigation at all. -

April 20, 2025 at 9:54 amYour father either applied or took the loan from the wrong loan app, my suspension is on rupee112(saw too many cases coming to bank) all they can do is create deep fake and threaten nothing else, pay as soon as you can and get rid of these things,To whoever it may concern:- apps are for games, banking, camera, social media do not borrow money virtually, visit the nearest bank and get the loan
