March 9, 2025 at 4:25 amSituation:My parents own a small piece of land which they brought back in 2012(have all the necessary paperwork). A party(bunch of goons) have started harrassing us stating that the property is theirs. We filed a civil suit due to the constant harrasment and to have some sort of protection from the courts.
They have now counter sued us.Their claim: Their great grandfather owned 2+ acers of land back in 1950s(this small piece being a part of it). He died and the it went to his wife. The wife was tricked and the land was sold by a party that controlled the general power of attorney.
The land has been resold multiple time after that(we have the land deed of those as well). My parents were the Last party to buy it with the intention to build a home and it’s the only vacant plot of that 2 acer property. Now this has happened.
I am fed up with the constant harrasment, and have put a lot of money into this(fixing up the place, bribing the police so that they help us etc). I have heard a lot of similar cases where some relatives comes to claim the land mentioning it belonged to their ancestors.
What are the chances that I will win. I know this is going to be a long process. How long should I expect something like this to be?

March 9, 2025 at 5:00 amYour case looks strong since you have all the legal paperwork, and the land has changed hands multiple times. The burden is on them to prove fraud, which won’t be easy. That said, these cases can drag on for years, sometimes a decade. Get a solid lawyer, file for an injunction to stop harassment, and be prepared for a long fight—but your chances of winning are good.-

March 9, 2025 at 5:54 amYes, I have been to these offices after my father passed away. It’s less of an office and more of a toll booth for getting your own work done.

March 9, 2025 at 7:40 amThis is a business model, put a claim on third party land fight legal battles for sometime if the third party is weak they’ll probably get tired of fighting the legal battle then comes a settlement offer and the person who had nothing to do with the land gets some money for taking the case back. -

March 9, 2025 at 1:21 pmYou will win even by adverse possession alone.
Apart from civil ask your mom or sister to go to magistrate court and file a criminal case for harassment and blackmail
