UOne of my colleagues at work recently joined my team after a break of almost 5 years. Since he is good at his work, i wanted to understand what kept him away for such a long time.
Background
He told me he had an accident in 2019, he was driving a car and hit a motorcycle causing some damage. They were unable to settle with the other party since they were asking for exorbidant sum. His father, unable to settle called the police, leading to an FIR amd court case.
He was convicted under IPC 279, and 338 he accepted his mistake, was fined 2000 rs and the case closed.My questions are:
1. Does this come up when we do corporate background checks? If yes, will he face discrimination while being hired?2. When applying for visa, does this need to be disclosed on the application?
