About 6 months back my grandma got her tooth replaced and while giving anaesthesia the doctor gave it in the tongue due to which sheโ€™s unable to taste the food and hence sheโ€™s barely eating anything. I am so angry but idk how to proceed, what are the legal actions i can take against that doctor? Please help. Thank You ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ

Its not the injection in the tongue. nerve that supplies to lateral border of tongue goes through the area where he injected. So injection is in the right place. but the nerve hasnt recovered.

Because this is a described risk factor that is associated with such procedure you may not be able to get any legal support.

But in case you want to proceed, then put a complaint to the district medical board. they will assess your complaint and give reason as to if it warrants a proceeding. alternatively you can also give a consumer court complaint.

Steroids have shown to improve the situation in short term situations. But not sure if it’s gonna work after 6 months . You can visit a plastic surgeon to see if there are other options.

Okay, actually we waited so long hoping that it would recover naturally but it didnโ€™t. Will do thank you so much!

A medical procedure gone wrong is not a ground to take legal action against a doctor. To pursue legal action against a medical professional, it is imperative to establish a compelling case of medical negligence. This entails demonstrating that the doctorโ€™s actions deviated significantly from the standard of care expected from the doctor. In most cases, even when there is some degree of fault attributable to the doctor, courts generally favor them unless the fault is entirely their own.
