what rights do the traffic cops have if I have a aftermarket exhaust on my bike?

2 days back I saw the cop catch a guy with an aftermarket on his Daytona he was asking for a fine of 2k but the lad talked his way outta there, I can call my dad if they catch me we have political connections but I can’t call him everyday

I asked the cop if that Daytona guy paid, the cop said he gave him a warning if he sees him again he will dismantle his bike

do traffic cops really have the rights to do that? what is the max they can do by law? they can’t seize and drive the bike to the police station can they?

if my bike isn’t louder than 100 decibels it isn’t a problem is it even if I get a aftermarket?
