May 2, 2025 at 1:11 pmI am a law student and I am in my 2nd year. I want to join the army. I know Kannada, Hindi and English. I can speak Hindi and Kannada( only speaking), and I can understand English. I love reading and writing. But the thing is, I am not able to understand the law properly. I donβt know what to do or where to start. -

May 2, 2025 at 1:36 pmOne can’t understand the law. One can interpret the law. There is this very fine definition by Sir Edward Coke.
The law is what the Law is.
As you’ll go through law school,l you’ll have a subject called interpretation of statutes, it’ll ofcourse help you understand it better. The methodologies especially.
For now, since you’re trying to understand, read case laws. Open the judgements, understand where the best content tends to be, don’t limit it to just the supreme court. Read news articles about the law and the misuse of law and the challenges.
You’ll soon see it from a different point of view, you’ll see real life interpretation of what the law says, you’ll read how it can be bent, or how it can be misinterpreted. Read them judgements. You’ll do fine!
