April 9, 2025 at 6:28 pmHonestly, Professions like Doctors and lawyers word of mouth is very important. You have to be good exceptionally in law and have to make contacts. The problem with first generation lawyers is you don’t have steady income, no one to teach and for 4-5 years surviving in 10k-15k is hard specially when you see your peers are making more. But one time will come when you earn more than them collectively, just keep grinding.

April 9, 2025 at 12:30 pmIt’s not that you cannot earn good money in litigation. Initially, during your learning phase, it might fetch you a lesser income but with hard work and experience, you’ll definitely get there. Ironically, the people who pay you the least in litigation teach you the most. Or else you can apply at law firms, that pay you a hefty amount, but that ground level experience will mould you like no other. Good luck!-

April 9, 2025 at 12:43 pmI know the seniors in the initial (3 to 4)years pay 15 to 20 k and that’s ok because of family support .Now what is hard work I find it overwhelming to study even basic bare acts and articles written (eg by Gautam bhatia , abhinav chandrachud ) should I even be a lawyer how will I even be able to read 6 to 8 hours a day plus as a first gen lawyer I had met an advocate he was 35 and was only earning 50k pm I don’t want that ( I don’t know his backstory and why he failed) .. if you had colleagues why do you think they are failing apart from not working hard .I have doubts if I will be able to do it because in the past I was not a hard worker-

April 9, 2025 at 12:56 pmWell begun is half done- And that’s so true. Keep the faith, work hard, love what you do and look at those who inspire you and not those who pull you back. Everyone has a different story, so don’t say that because he failed, so will I. The harder you work, the better you get at it.
