        A few months ago I got a KYC updation request for my bank account. Since I was living away from my hometown, I found it difficult to update the KYC so procrastinated and did not do it. This month, when I was trying to use UPI, I found that I could not do any transaction as it would be ‘denied by bank’ or it would show that ‘your account is blocked or frozen’, please contact with bank. So, I went to bank yesterday and got my KYC updated. Still the warning has not gone away. I can’t go to bank till next week. In the meantime how do I know what to do further?

        Curiously, my younger brother who also has an account with the same bank, and also has his KYC pending, does not have any problems transacting. This makes me think it is not just due to KYC?

        This is my only account for spending. Since I am studying for exam (I am not earning), I need money.

          you said that you went to bank and got it updated. what do you mean by that ? do you mean that you gave info to the employee over there and he said that ..then may be he didnt enter it in the system . wait for 1-2 days .

              I filled and signed the form, gave photos, id etc. Completed that. He told me KYC will be done by EOD. I specifically asked him about debit specifically,he told me it would also happen EOD.

                  actually i read some documents abt KYC and it said that it may take few days to couple of weeks !!! u may call them and confirm and tell them that its urgent

                      That’s what I think so too. I also asked one friend who told me that the bank employees need to check account status for frozen/blocked specifically on their desktops, which I did not do since I was under the impression that KYC could be the only issue. It is just today that I became aware about other issues.
