April 26, 2025 at 9:41 amyep obviously the landlord should be able to evict without any reason provided they give adequate notice like 2 – 3 months.-

April 26, 2025 at 9:48 amUnfortunately, that’s not what Indian laws are.To evict you need to have a valid and good reason.
If the tenant is not at any fault and paying his rent duly, his rights are protected.
Unless the landlord has a very good reason to evict without the tenant’s fault.

April 26, 2025 at 1:41 pmIt’s better that people don’t give their house on rent then, it’s a loss making transaction for the landlord, law should protect both sides. F Indian laws.-

April 26, 2025 at 12:42 pmWhat non-sense did i just read? Why does a landlord need a reason to evict the tenant? Can any lawyer throw some light?-

April 26, 2025 at 3:22 pmNot a lawyer but probably to safeguard the tenant rights.
Imagine you are a tenant paying monthly dues and suddenly one morning you are told by your tenant to look for a new house. You have no clue where you can find it. You have already used up your salary in the last week, you have a family along with you. So I think it protects tenants from this type of situation.Or else tenants could easily give you a room and then when someone pays them more they would have given that room to them.
