March 6, 2025 at 11:30 amIndia has a law-making body called Legislature. At Union level, we call it The Parliament and at the State level, it is called the Legislative Assembly. The Parliament consists of members of Parliament (popularly known as MPs) and The Legislative Assembly consists of Members of the Legislative Assembly (popularly known as MLAs). All these members are elected by the public so there are basically representatives of the us (the public). They are the ones that present the bill (draft of a law), vote on it, get the President’s assent and make it a proper enforceable law.
Read more about it on Google.
