May 21, 2026 at 8:13 amFor context I’m a turban wearing Sikh guy, and I’ve been twice issued Challan for not wearing a helmet while riding my scooty. Important to note, in both challans, it’s very clearly visible that I’m wearing a full sized black turban on my scooty yet issued e-challan. The first challan was dated December, 2024 (noida) and was sent to me on may, 2025. I challenged it online under grievances section and issued a ticket for the same (i attached my driving licence which has a photo of me in a turban and motor vehicle act stating the exclusion of sikh turban wearing men for wearing a helmet). Fastrack to may, 2026 I get a message saying challan has been sent to court for disposal. Yesterday(21,may,2026) , I randomly realised while checking the mParivahan app that I’ve been issued another challan for no helmet this time in ghaziabad on 9th april 2026 which when i tried to challange it said the challan has already been sent to court. I agree this mistake on myside as to completely missing the message sent to me by traffic authorities and I was late to challenge it.A friend of mine suggested me to check the virtual court website to see if there’s any case pending and when I entered my Vehicle registration number or challan number said no records found. I successfully managed to raise a ticket to challange atleast one of the challans yet both challans were sent to court for disposal.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated. Thank you.

May 21, 2026 at 10:14 amHi, lawyer here. You can challenge the challan on vcourts website, or the e parivahan challan portal.
Once the challan is challenged, you can appear in the concerned court and either reduce the challan or make it nill.
Hope this helps.

May 21, 2026 at 10:21 amThank you for your reply , as I mentioned the Vcourt website doesn’t have any of my challan details and I won’t be available in NCR as I have shifted back to chattisgarh. Any walk around?-

May 21, 2026 at 10:25 amin that case, you can check the e parivahan portal or can keep checking the vcourts portal as well, sometimes challans take time to reflect. If the challan gets listed before the concerned court, you can also engage a local lawyer to appear on your behalf instead of travelling all the way from Chandigarh.
