YHii, I had just ordered a few things from zepto and my bill was 364.08 but they charged me 365 at the end.
I went through the detailed as well, after adding everything
The handling charges, GST and all it came to 364.08They added .92 to round it upto 365
Like I know 1 rupee doens’t make a difference to me but overall they’re earning crores and crores just by rounding upIf it’s over .5 then it maybe still makes sense but mine wasn’t even .1
And tbh in this day and age when everything is paid using online transactions then rounding up doesn’t even make sense
It’s not like we’re asking for change or something.So it’s totally wrong and something should be done about it

NTalk about Zomato they have this mandatory 1 rupee donation and you can’t make it zero, I don’t know how that is legal.

HThere should be a law that says:
Below 0.5 – round it to Zero (0)
Exactly 0.5 = 0.5
Above 0.5 – round it to One (1)

CIt’s the same in Instamart as well buddy. I raised complaints a couple of times regarding this. They are least worried about it.

DIt is the same with MMT, every time you cancel your booking they refund 1 rupee less and I noticed that recently when I was going through my credit card statement.
So much for the Full Refund. I’m sure even they are making crores using this sly method.
No one remembers the exact amount so that 1 rupee less is usually unnoticed. -

MI have uninstalled zepto.
The amount of hidden bad things this company does is incomprehensible.
They don’t even show you the total bill amount before you click pay.
It’s 2 additional clicks just to check how much you need to pay. Made my blood boil.Compare that to swiggy. Atleast they are transparent about it. The bill amount is shown with proper details.

SZepto has always been trying to steal money. I have a pass and yet my deliveries are not free. Apparently they added a “apply for free delivery” button when the order qualifies.
They put a manual step on purpose coz they knew lot of us would assume the delivery is free. I fell for the same thing i mustve paid extra 30 rs on every order for a whole month till i realised what was up. This is extremely shady was of doing business. Using dark patterns to milk more money from an already onboarded customer. -

PZepto has been doing these bad practices for some time now.
Remember the differential pricing for different devices like iOS has higher prices than android. Yeah that was started by Zepto only.
Then they introduced packing charges handling charges on top of delivery charges surge charges and night charges. They are trying to loot in every single way possible. Better to use Flipkart Minutes. You are guaranteed to save atleast 10% on mrp. Or even Blinkit Instamart BB is good enough right now in place of the thieves that are Zepto. -

NThey have started selling rotten, expired chicken at cheaper rates. Better to go to the local kirana store, open a book on your name and buy from there. Saves unnecessary spending too. I have uninstalled Swiggy, Zomato, Zepto, Blinkit, Flipkart, Amazon, everything. My credit card bills this month is ₹3450. Last month it was ₹49k out of which ₹20k+ was through Zepto and other apps. All these are money draining app.

EZepto and its customer help care really sucks….i ordered Vietnamese coffee from Zepto cafe and there was coffee packet wrapper floating inside the coffee. I have full video and photos which I submitted in the portal in section (issue with order) I received a call and they were like next we will make sure you get fresh order and I was like it’s not about fresh but plastic wrapper inside the coffee which is floating idk how are their safety and hygiene standard and the audacity of the customer executive was like we will refund ₹80 order value and ₹50 compensation

RZepto is ruuning a SCAMING business. I am not mad about this rounding up thing as almost all businesses do and we have accepted that and do not care enough about it.
What my makes my blood boil is.. They constantly sell/delivers item that customer would like a refund… Eg, expire products or near expiry products. Now there is nothing wrong woth selling near expiry products but some products are not possible to consume within those timeframe. They also sell products higher that MRP.
Refund/replacment is quite easy and this is how there scam works. They have a quick easy option to request refund/replacement where the you can choose between 4 options like.. Your are charged higher than MRP, product expired, near expiring. You choose that product get picked up/replaced and you can refund and here is the scam. They DO NOT refund money to original payment method or ask you to choose which method and automatically refund to your zepto cash/wallet excluding any handling, delivery, gst, low cart and platform charge.
THEY PURPOSELY DELIVER A PRODUCTS YOU ARE LIKELY TO RETURN/REFUND, THEH HAVE A PRE DEFINED PROBLEM LIST OR EXPIRY PRODUCT AND HIGHER MRP CHARGE AND THEY ALWAYS KEEP THEIR CUT.

MZepto is the worst, I recorded my screen to make sure I have the proof.
If you are eligible for a free delivery after their min threshold, they won’t automatically remove the delivery fee.
You go to the payment details, click on Apply where it says you are eligible for free delivery.Imagine thousands of people not clicking on that apply button and paying 30 rs on every order

PI agree, Zepto has been behaving oddly lately. Maybe it’s time we all switch back to Blinkit. But then again, I live just 200 meters from Blinkit’s dark store, and it still took them 60 minutes to deliver. After that experience, I decided I’m done giving these middlemen another chance. My dad was right all along—when you’re heading out or coming back home, just buy whatever you need for 200 or 300 bucks. For emergencies, sure, Zepto or Blinkit might do, but honestly, they’re all just out to rip us off. I really hope Reliance Jio steps into the instant delivery game someday.
