Zepto rounded off the total amount to charge extra

I placed a order on Zepto today and the breakout for the same is as follows:

Item cost – 205.67
Item handling cost – 11.99
GST on handling cost – 1.59
Total – 219.25

But on the payment through UPI it showed up as 220 when there was no problem in actually paying up the exact amount, but I had no option to change it.

I understand that paying up 0.75 rupees is not something big or significant, but if you look at the scale at which Zepto operates and the amount of orders it processes everyday, these small amounts can collectively make up a huge number.

I feel it is unethical and unfair. What can be done for it? I am completely clueless in this space.

This is clearly unethical. for digital payment there is no need for roundoffs. The concept of roundoffs was due to cash payment.

Very little can be done in this regard without spending either a significant sum of money or a significant amount of time and effort. Even then the chances of success are bleak.

You can theoretically approach the consumer forum, emphasis on theoretically, and make some headlines as a customer who took zepto to court for 75 paise and try to draw attention to their ‘malpractice’.

When I studied the concept of round off in grade 4 I thought I might never need it in life ☠️, but here it goes.
Maybe they will say they provide free cash every week and discount etc as an excuse

If not for the Round-Up, these MFs will just add ₹0.75 to the Handling Cost.

As long as the amount is accounted for and justified, there is no problem to pay, but here they just rounded it off and kept the difference in their pocket

Why isn’t anyone talking about ZOMATO charging Rs.10 as “Platform Fee” for every order we place ?

Thank your starts it was not something ₹567.65. Otherwise, they would’ve rounded it up to ₹1000.
