March 2, 2025 at 7:52 amHi everyone! I had booked a ticket for “feeding india concert by dua lipa” on 29 august 2024.
The ticket cost me ₹10,689 and i made the payment through phonepe. Amount was deducted from my bank acct as well. However, I didn’t get the ticket.I raised the issue to the event support team and i was told that the money will be refunded within 3-7 business days. It has been 5 months and i still haven’t recieved my dues. I have raised the issue on numerous occasions to event support team, zomato and my bank and even national consumer helpline website . All of them seem to be just passing the ball in each other’s courts. Zomato customer executive once asked me to show last 6 months my bank statements claiming that the amount has been reverted. I obviously refused. But sadly, i have been robbed off my hard earned money.
My workplace doesn’t have the luxury of good cellular network and hence it is not possible for me to persue the case. I have transaction id and other screenshots for proof.Currently i am at my hometown and i want to get my money back.
I don’t know how to go about this, would really appreciate it if someone can just guide me.TLDR – zomato scammed me for 10k in the name of dua lipa concert , didn’t even give me a ticket and putting the blame on my bank. I don’t usually stay in cellphone network zones.
I have about 15 days right now. Please guide if you can -

March 2, 2025 at 8:06 amFrom what I’ve experienced in the past 5 months, they are just trying to avoid it. Giving different replies everytime.
1st- they said payment had failed then i showed transaction id
2nd- they asked me to contact bank
3rd – bank told me that transaction was through
4th- money will be refunded in 3-7 days
This loop kept repeating until i got furious one day and then they asked me to share my bank statement.
I just want to know if there’s any legal way to go about this-

March 3, 2025 at 4:07 amIf they have refunded your money, the reference number should be there. Ask them the reference number. Also if you had multiple bank accounts on PhonePe, did you pay from the default account? If you pay from other account, the refund might come to the default account. I suggest you to collect all the proofs you have. Scrutinize default account and pay account statement in case they are different from the date of deduction to next 14 days.-

March 3, 2025 at 4:53 amIt’s entirely possible that Zomato issued refund. But bank didn’t credit it to your account. As per their claim that they have refunded your money. So they should share the reference number with you. The reference number is the key to your refund. Push them even harder to get it. It’s not easy to win against corporates, but it’s possible. I won against Samsung. Zomato is not even 1% of Samsung.

March 3, 2025 at 2:35 amThat’s not consumer court case. It’s just a complaint. You should then move to e-dakhil and then at last stage to physical court. Consumer cases can be filled from any city (where you work, live etc) and does not have to be in city where company says they ll attend court.

March 2, 2025 at 10:29 amGet a lawyer to do it bro
And ask zomato to pay and include legal fee’s and mental trauma compensation. Also just after you talk to the lawyer and he files a case, mail to Zomato updating them that you are going ahead and suing them and soon will be sharing case number.

March 2, 2025 at 9:32 amMake a complaint through Ombudsman.
After that if your bank says , we don’t have your money
Ask them for NPCI document of your transaction.Send it to Zomato via mail or complaint and tell them to refund your money otherwise you will take legal action against them. As you already have a proof as NPCI doc
Happened to me once. I resolved this way.

March 3, 2025 at 2:53 amYou can just yt it. It is a RBI regulated online complaint service[Here](https://m.rbi.org.in/Scripts/Complaints.aspx)
You can fill your details about the complaint and give the screenshots as proof etc
Edit: Let me be clear, it is a complaint against the bank. I did it coz the merchant said they reverted the money, which I found was not true.
Eventually I got that npci doc as a proof which helped me pressure the merchant and also helped threaten them to go legally.

March 2, 2025 at 10:14 amYou can go about it legally. But it will cost you more than 10k. Now you are at a stalemate with zomato and they are asking for your bank statement, I would suggest you do it and see where it will take you. What else is there to do? -

March 2, 2025 at 11:07 amZomato events or zomato districts is a horrible service. Because they suck at customer issue resolution. If it works for you its great. But if something goes wrong then you are *ucked . Because the support executive will be helpless as it seems they dont have any control on anything. They are a glorified black ticket agent that used to stand outside theatres back in 90’s .-

March 2, 2025 at 11:48 amSimilar case. Paid via Mobikwik UPI, amount got debited, txn failed and refund never received.Mobikwik says go to bank, bank says go to mobikwik.
Well, turns out you can raise a chargeback request to your bank (email the nodal officer if branch mfs don’t listen)
Also, you’re eligible for ₹100/day of penalty to be paid by the bank.
Happy to help if you need further help.

March 2, 2025 at 1:28 pmFile a consumer complaint. Appears to be a strong case and the consumer forums usually direct such companies to also refund the litigation cost incurred. -

March 2, 2025 at 3:02 pmCopying from a different threadLitigative approach
File a complaint against both Tata Neu and Taj under “Unfair trade practice (Section 2(47))” and “Deficiency in service (Section 2(11) of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019)”.
First, file consumer complaints online. Then, you will have to wait for one month. If they don’t respond, file them physically and watch them run.
I got this on Nobroker, they even compensated me with an extra 5K

March 2, 2025 at 3:36 pmSimilar thing happened to me, for a ticket cancellation they sent out a mail on 11th Feb that refund has been processed and will reflect in account in 5 to 7 working days. I mailed them again on 22nd then they started replying with it will come in 2 days, 3 days and that they have escalated the matter and will revert back in a few days.
After multiple followups I got frustrated and lodged a consumer forum complaint and sent district/zomato a mail stating the same and also mentioned that I believe they had no intention of returning my money and just sent out a mail on 11th Feb hoping customer will not track the refund in account. Then immediately I got a call and the lady said they had some issues with the last refund transaction and have reprocessed the refund now and I got it in my account the next day.
I still believe that they had never actually refunded the transaction on 11th Feb and were just telling lies.

March 2, 2025 at 4:35 pmI suppose a legal notice to zomato will do the job because any company doesn’t want to go through the hassle of a legal battle which clearly lies in this case.
Please don’t hesitate in sending a personal message for any further assistance in the matter. I am an advocate and assure you complete assistance in the matter. -

March 3, 2025 at 6:45 amGive them the bank statement.I had a similar case where a refund of 2000 was to come from Apple for prebooking amount for my iPhone (I got it in Sep 24).
I bought the phone elsewhere and asked them to refund the prebooking. After 2 months of back and forth of them saying they have refunded and me saying they haven’t, they asked for a 6 month bank statement as proof. I gave them the statement and they pointed out the exact date and time when the refund was issued in my statement only and I ended up looking like a fool
Learn from my story – 1) Send them your statement, its okay. 2) Check it first thoroughly before sending

March 3, 2025 at 7:26 amsocial media, tag the, Consumer laws in india is shit and sadly tagging them on social media on twitter usually works. If not tell the bank the transaction is fraudulent. Also zomato wanted your bank statements, go to your bank and ask a represetitive to be in contact with them to prove your money has not been reverted. And if you want to persue it legally, then consumer court, you might even get more -
