That said, you are correct in assuming that a cop shouldn’t thrash you, in fact, ethically speaking, no one should unless they are protecting themselves or another. And technically speaking, you did nothing wrong other than having poor judgement in your friendships.Legally speaking, it’s not advisable to pursue something like this when you are a part of something where people are doing something illegal. People would pretty easily justify a cops use of physical force in situations like this and there’s just no way around it in India.
