March 6, 2025 at 6:37 pmI have been working at Indian MNC for last 2.5 years and in January I received negative feedback from my manager and today they have put on PIP for poor performance and bad attitude which is weird because yesterday I received appreciation for my work completion on a project.
PIP in corporate is termed as indirect firing. I am supposed to serve it for a month irrespective of I resign or not. I would like to put my papers and resign as there are 90% chances they will fire me. I have a horrible, toxic manager who doesn’t listen and HR is also involved/neutral.
I wanted know if I get to serve notice period (3 months) or equivalent salary if I decide to resign? Can I take legal actions against them? They are not giving me enough time to acknowledge the PIP and have asked to accept it soon. -

March 6, 2025 at 6:47 pmIf you resign, you will serve the notice period or will be buying that out unless the company wants to relieve you earlier. In case they fire you, then also they will give you minimum notice, usually 30 days or equivalent pay, before relieving you.You can’t take any action till the time they are paying you and giving you a reason to terminate your services regardless of how absurd the reason is.

March 6, 2025 at 6:50 pmI have to serve PIP for a month even if I resign. But I need more time to look for job and hence want that 3 months notice period. But not sure if they will give me or relieve earlier-

March 6, 2025 at 11:59 pmOnce you hv received appreciation, use that to get out of PiP and buy that 3m time..then quit.legally you can do nothing.in case they take coercive steps to push you out then we can possibly look at some action.-
