70k pending for 5 years, no response at all. Need Guidance.

Hey Everyone!

My brother bought a 2nd hand car in 2021 from his friend’s brother. At first everything seemed okay, but within a week itself we started noticing a lot of issues with the car. Since it was lockdown time, we couldn’t return it immediately, but we informed him and kept it for around a month.

After we returned it, instead of giving the money back, he gave another car… which was even worse than the first one. So my brother clearly asked for refund. He gave back some amount, but still 70k is pending.

Now it’s been more than 5 years. He’s not picking calls, not replying anywhere. We even went to his house, but no proper response from him or his family. We do have some screenshots and call recordings as proof.

Honestly don’t know what to do next. Should we send legal notice or file police complaint? Any idea how much it may cost also?

My brother’s marriage is coming soon, so it would really help if we can get this money back somehow.
