A Nepali Student from KIIT (Bhubaneswar) unalived herself because of the constant harassment from her ex-bf , the college authorities are trying to suppress the matter and have asked Nepali students to vacate the campus, police and media are not doing anything.

In my final year of college (different one), there were about 5-6 suicides. None of the authorities cares and nothing changed. I don’t wanna be the one to say this, but efforts in this matter are mostly futile

I was surprised how the female staff from the management were misbehaving to the Nepali students, pure discrimination. The management should be punished and accountable.

Not a lawyer.

Unfortunately nepalis are not treated well on a large scale in India. A couple of months back a Nepali security guard of a hsg construction (slum redevelopment) project was murdered by workers living on the site in Mumbai. The whole thing was swept under the carpet. Why? Bcoz it would stall the project which is important for ppl who are looking forward to living there, bcoz these ppl are a big votebank, bcoz the builder although politically connected would have to file for bankruptcy if the case would be filed and the project stalled due to it. Politcal influence and apathy made sure that no case would be filed. I think it was deemed accidental or natural death.

I know personally that the murdered guy had already stopped one rape during a recent festival celebration when these workers were drunk and planning it loudly. Their voices were heard by many living close by
