MHello, I need some legal guidance regarding an issue I’m currently facing. A user filed a cybercrime complaint against me on, citing vulgar and offensive comments I made during an argument on Twitter. I admit that I made inappropriate comments in a moment of anger. Should i be worried?
He posted the screenshot of that complaint. The complaint is:
*”The accused user by the name of ______ on Twitter posted highly vulgar and sexually explicit comments about my mother under a public post. His language was abusive, obscene, and intended to insult and mentally harass me and my family. This behavior has caused severe emotional distress and humiliation. I have attached screenshots of the abusive comments as evidence. The incident took place on 26 April 2025 around 12.09 AM. The account clearly shows repeated and deliberate harassment, which falls under cyberbullying, online sexual harassment, and criminal intimidation. I request urgent action against the user for insulting the modesty of a woman, defamation, and mental harassment. I am ready to provide any further details if required. Please treat this as a serious matter.”*

You have two options, either you apologise profusely and plead to the user you abused to withdraw the complaint.
Or you get a lawyer and defend yourself. (Which probably might not work out very well in the long run, but consult one to understand the things you can be help accountable for and the punishment for it).
Winning an online argument can feel gratifying, but in case it goes the other way, this is what happens.

MComments bahut jyada irritating ho gaya thha, bo Hinduism pe faltu ka comment kar raha thha, so to put these teasing to an end i reacted badly. Fat ti nehi hai bhai bas janna thha kya problem face karna pad sakta hai,
Anyway i replied to him saying i am going to file a case on your statements about my religion so he agreed to take it back saying “I don’t want anyone to get into big trouble because of me. I just hope you’ve learned from this”
