May 2, 2025 at 1:57 pmMy father’s name is X Y Z according to all my govt documents including my birth certificate, income certificate, aadhar, passport etc. However, its been mentioned as X Z Y (middle name and surname exchanged) in my 10th marks card, which led to the same being mentioned in my 12th and Degree marks cards.
I have Study certificates from 10th school, 12th std Institute and Degree institute in which my father’s name is mentioned correctly as X Y Z
There are no spelling mistakes anywhere. Will this cause serious issues for me in the future?
And how to go about rectifying it if required?
Please helpπ -

May 2, 2025 at 2:06 pmIs it a better option compared to applying for a name change in all of my previous institutions?-

May 2, 2025 at 2:10 pmYes, it’s less hassle. You’ll have a notarized affidavit that says both names are correct and of the same person. You wouldn’t need to do anything else and carry on with whatever name you have on your certificates.-

May 2, 2025 at 2:13 pmThank you so muchπ also, is there a major need for affidavit/correction in this case? would this cause significant legal/practical issues in the future?-

May 2, 2025 at 2:16 pmProbably not, but it’s better to have it and not need it. If an issue does come up, you’ll have the affidavit. It costs about 500 rupees, so keep away from anyone who asks for more than that because they will. One guy tried to charge me 2000 for it.
