May 9, 2026 at 7:00 pmSo I am planning to get a job and move out within a few months. Ofcourse with my own earned and saved up money. The problem is now that I mention it my parents and especially my mom are having a meltdown. Basically they want me to give up on my idea of moving bcz they need someone to help around in the house (they are in their 50s .
See as long as I am living I am totally ok with helping and I help them , and yes they do I have the right to ask for more help and I have a duty , but I as an adult get to decide to move out on my own accord and then my obligations end. But mom thinks I owe her bcz of all the things she did for me in past. Like giving me a laptop when I was 16 , buying me clothes and all and I respect her she was infact the one who did work for two.
But that doesn’t means I need to stay against my will . And let me tell you the main reason is my mom her opinions , her stupid pathetic lectures and utter disgusting toxic shit that comes from her mouth , the way she always complain , I want to get away with it and I have the right to. My dad is toxic too much more about me infront of my mom and she defends him.
If I decide to leave she will do all the tricks up her sleeve like physically stopping me , asking me to pay her back for all the bills she paid including when I was in ICU. I know you can’t demand money like that coz those were gifts and acts of help.
Is their any legal assistance or way to avoid the drama coz Idk to extent things will go south. Any advice
