Amy father passed away in november 2024, he used to give money to people, sometimes on small interest or sometimes without anything.
He used to take a cheque as a security, he stopped giving money in his later years, but i found a cheque in his almirah. i contacted the person in november 2024 and asked him to pay back, i checked my father’s passbook, he took 25,000rs from my father and never returned back
he told me he would return me in april 2025 as he didn’t have it now
i contacted him yesterday he didn’t pick up, i messaged him he reverted he would call me today, he didn’t call me back today as well
i am currently living in pune, he is in jodhpur and his bank is of surat
suppose i realise in 1-2 week that he doesn’t wish to pay me back, what should i do
the money was credited to his account 2 years back, i have this in my father’s passbook, he claims he returned 5k in between but i dont have proof of it, he doesn’t seem concerned on returning the rest amount
the cheque i have has his sign, name and amount written,
payee date are not written
any advice on what to do -
