Hi, I need advice regarding my notice period situation.

I have worked at my current company for 2 years and have recently resigned because i got new offer. My notice period is 60 days, and I requested an early release, but they refused. I have no tasks assigned, Iโ€™ve only fixed 3-4 minor bugs in the last month, and mostly Iโ€™m just sitting idle.

The new company wanted me to join immediately, but I stretched it to wait for 45 days, hoping that since I have no work, I might get an early release.

        My joing letter states:
The notice period for leaving / terminating services shall be 60 days on either side (can be immediate
        effect from our side).

        I want to know:
        – is there any way I can leave early without completing the full notice period?

        – Can they withhold my relieving and experience letters if I leave early?

Any advice on how to handle this situation would be really helpful. Thanks!

Give some medical reason and some supporting proof, for an early release.
