Alliance Air cancelled my flight and i had to spend 18K to get alternate flights to the same location

So i had a imphal to aizawl flight on the 25th of Jan, on 24th Night 8ish PM i get a message while i was sleeping that the flight was cancelled i didn’t see this message until 3 AM in the morning. My flight was to depart Imphal at 9:00AM , they did call and try to tell me that flight is cancelled , but the problem is it was too late.

Now because of this i have been at a loss of close to 18K. I know that i will get a refund but the it was imperative that i had to travel to the aizawl as my returning flight to bengaluru was on the 26th, and i could not miss this.

Now, other than the ticket refund, how can i remake the loss of 18K, i am at the moment broke and in debt to a friend. Is there a way to force the company to payup, all they said was operational difficulties and i have it on record. from my understanding i think they couldn’t get a lot of people on the plane to make it worth the cost of service, but that’s not my problem.I think this is a unique case as i spoke to some of the staff and they said not many people had any other flights from flying plans from aizawl

Passengers who have not been informed as per the provisions contained in Para 3.3.1, or missed the connecting flight booked on the same ticket number of an airline, the airlines shall either provide alternate flight as acceptable to the passenger or provide compensation in addition to the full refund of air ticket in accordance with the following provisions: 
a) INR 5,000 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having a block time of up to and including 01 hour
b) INR 7,500 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having block time of more than 01 hour and up to and including 02 hours.
c) INR 10,000 or booked one-way basic fare plus airline fuel charge, whichever is less for flights having a block time of more than 02 hours.
Additionally, the airline shall provide them facilities at the airport in accordance with Para 3.8.1 (a) in the event they have already reported for their original flight and whilst they are waiting for the alternate flight.

Was your flight from Aizwal on the same PNR? Then you could have asked for a free rescheduling of connecting flight.

I am getting the refund for sure, since rescheduling option was on Feb 1st, i had to be there on 25th

Update : alliance air have refused to give compensation, what are my options?
