        Hi,

I am party โ€œCโ€ and bought a 20-year-old 3BHK flat from party โ€œBโ€ , and he has bought it from “Aโ€ (i.e Builder who passed away). “A” has given all the papers to “B” like– possession letter, agreement to sale etc, but no registration, at present Bโ€™s name on the property like on Electricity. But the Municipality’s name has been changed to “C”(that’s me)

Now what documents and papers Do I need from the previous owner โ€œBโ€ to stay in the future without any problem? In this apartment, everyone is living with an โ€œagreement to saleโ€ as proof of ownership of the flat. The majority of apartments which were built before the year 2000 have no registration papers. Everyone is using AGREEMENT TO SALE documents only.

        Location โ€“ PATNA, BIHARย

        1) Will there be any issues with the Government in future ?
        2) How can I sell my flat in future
        3) Can I go for registration myself

That’s how disputed properties work. Since you ask about whether or not it could create problems in future, the answer would be: it surely could. But there are quite a handful of tricks, which only seasoned property dispute lawyers would be able to tell you.
