Attacked with the intention of robbery on highway in broad day light. Local police has been unhelpful.

Hello,

Me and my friend were traveling from Udaipur to Ahmedabad on Highway 48 on April 24,2026 in our car. We were ambushed on the empty highway and attacked with sharp weapon, chased, abused and threatened. Luckily we escaped and fled and called 100, went to the nearest police station. We requested FIR to be filed, which they only took informal complaint instead. Our car has sustained damage.

We’ve information of the other car and provided that to local police. It’s been 3 days and no action yet has been taken yet and local police is being very evasive in responding.

What can i do?

I’m a Canadian citizen with OCI.
