Hello people, I need to check what are my legal options to safeguard myself.
Back story: My mother owns a house which was given to to her by my grand mother, me and my brother jointly built the house with equal share of money input and the house loan EMI payment as well. Home loan is in his name. Now we have bought a new plot where again I have put in half the money and paying half the home loan EMI. So I was told that due to legal reasons there cannot be 3 people on the property registration, so I let my brother and mother be listed as the owners. My mother has to be a owner to avoid paying capital gains as we plan to sell the current house and build the new one.
I want to safeguard myself from future eviction or harassments’ if any. As of now the relationship is cordial and may or may not turn sour but I want to be future proof. What are my options?
