I rented a flat in Bellandur recently. The owner was WHINING about previous tenants leaving the bathroom dirty and how they put their hard earned money into purchasing this flat, yet hold one month rent from the tenant when vacating ( around 45k).
The bathrooms required a deep cleaning that just cost 2000, the painting of the entire flat single coating cost around 12k.
Was holding one month rent always the stupid norm in Bangalore? It’s even made part of the agreement.
I would like to take my owner to the court for including “one month rent to be held on vacating”
Painting costs and any property damage charges are justifiable but that would not cost a whole month’s rent.
What are my chances.
