March 27, 2025 at 8:21 amBeing charged 45500 as post accident charges for my revv car booking from December which includes bribery charges and manipulated towing charges.I am not sure what to do, they have served me
With a legal reconciliation notice. Here is the email thread of our conversation.
Wrote this mail to them
Dear Revv Team,I am writing to raise my concern regarding the unjustified charges imposed on me for my booking (ID: xyz) from 21-12-2024 to 23-12-2024. following a life-threatening accident involving the Honda City I booked through your relationship manager, Inder.
Background:
I booked the car through Inder, who assured me that everything, including insurance, was covered in my booking for complete peace of mind. However, when the delivery executive, Naga Raj, delivered the vehicle, I immediately pointed out that both front tyres were flat (worn-out with no grip). His response was dismissiveβhe asked me to “take it or leave it” or escalate it to customer support as he had multiple deliveries.
I raised the issue with customer support immediately, requesting a replacement vehicle . I was informed that no other car was available, and I was advised not to worry as the garage manager had approved the vehicle and that 24×7 roadside assistance would be available in case of an emergency.
Accident Incident:
Unfortunately, while traveling near Samalpatti, the car skidded uncontrollably and crashed into the guardrails due to the lack of tyre grip. This was a life-threatening incident that could have resulted in severe consequences.
Thankfully, no lives were lost, and there was no third-party damage. However, this accident could have been avoided had my concerns about the tyres been addressed at the time of delivery. As proof, I have attached photos of the worn-out tyres from the time of pickup.
Unjustified Charges Post-Accident:
Three months after the accident, I have now been served with a charge of βΉ45,527. While I understand that there are costs associated with an accident, I am unable to make sense of this amount due to the following reasons:
I have not received a proper breakdown of the charges with supporting invoices.
When I spoke with Ajush Nath on March 25th, I was informed that this amount includes 20k bribery charges as well, which was never disclosed at the time of booking or in any prior communication.
The towing charges I was verbally told earlier differ significantly from the amount in this bill. I have cross-verified with the third-party vendor, and the charges do not match.
I missed some of the earlier communication regarding this amount, but this does not justify the lack of transparency in the billing.
Request for Immediate Clarification
Before I can proceed with any payment, I require:
A detailed, itemized bill with supporting invoices for each charge
An explanation for why I am being held liable for an accident caused due to worn-out tyres, an issue I flagged at the time of delivery.
They replied back this
We understand your concerns, particularly regarding the issues raised about the vehicle’s condition at the time of delivery and the subsequent accident. However, after a thorough review of your case, we must inform you that the charges applied are valid and consistent with our policies. The responsibility for any damages or incidents during your rental period, including the reported condition of the tires, ultimately rests with the user, as outlined in our terms and conditions.
We appreciate your feedback and assure you that we take such matters seriously. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any adjustments to the charges at this time.
I again wrote to them that
I am requesting, for the 10th time, a detailed breakup of the βΉ45,527 charges along with supporting documents, including:
1. Invoices or receipts for the amounts charged.
2. Proof of payments made to third parties (e.g., towing vendors, authorities).
3. Details of all parties involved in the post-accident process.
Specific Concerns:
1. Towing Charges Discrepancy:
β’ I understand that towing costs are to be borne by the customer, as per your terms and conditions.
β’ However, I have contacted the third-party vendor used for towing, and their reported charges do not match the amount I am being billed. Please provide the actual invoice from the vendor to verify the correct amount.
2. Bribery Charges:
β’ Your customer support executive, Ajush Nath, informed me that a 20-25k of this bill includes bribery payments to the police.
β’ There is no mention in your terms and conditions that the customer must bear such costs.
β’ If this claim is true, please provide proof of payment or an official bill. Given the towing charge discrepancies, I have reason to believe that these charges may also be manipulated.
They replied back this
Thank you for contacting Revv!
We regret our inability to offer any reimbursement as per our relevant authorities. We are closing this thread mail as this is the only closure on the concern raised by you. Please let us know if you need any assistance with respect to any other booking.
β
We would like to inform you that there are 20000 INR for damage incurred in the trip and 25280 INR for Towing and Toll and Vehicle releasing Charges. -

March 27, 2025 at 8:31 amAdditionally,
I have voice recording of the third party vendor where he has mentioned his charges and bribe being asked by police. Adding both comes 15k which is 10.5k lesser than what they have mentioned.Plus, while I booking the car they give a peace of mind option where the maximum damage liability is capped to 3999. My relationship manager promised everything is included including the insurance, he didnβt specify the peace of mind but by everything I think they should also include it.
Shall I raise this point as well, being little subjective? -
