March 30, 2025 at 12:33 pmMy cousin paid for a flat in a residential project. The time to handover as per the agreement was till last year, including the 6 month extension. But the work hasn’t even started on that land. He is liable to pay per month rent as per the agreement but he is ghosting everyone. Before going the legal route, can one complain about this somewhere? Maybe to rera or someone else? -

March 30, 2025 at 4:31 pmDtcp is the authorising authority to issue licence you can complain there but they will seldom act but You can get the police to file an FIR and investigate under section 154(1) and 154(3) and if the police do not do that you can approach a magistrate for directions to the police file an FIR and investigate under 156(3) and simultaneously file a complaint with RERA

March 30, 2025 at 1:20 pmLawyer from Bangalore –This could be an intimidation tactic, but you could also send a legal notice saying that you’ll file for initiate insolvency proceedings before NCLT , and you can then choose to initiate insolvency proceedings.
Consult your lawyer before proceeding, but just letting you know all your options. -

March 30, 2025 at 2:33 pmThis will be a long battle. All of you should come together and hire a good lawyer/firm who has experience of representing cases in the high court. Ultimately, there will be appeals that go to HC, and HC will have the final word. RERA is not much of use in recovering money. refer to Ozona urban case (https://www.newindianexpress.com/cities/bengaluru/2025/Mar/25/ozone-homebuyers-withdraw-cases-from-toothless-k-rera) -
