February 4, 2025 at 2:44 pmWe are building an AI notetaker app, specifically for offline conversations. We got feedback from some folks that it might be useful for lawyers, for transcribing hearings and reading through it later, asking AI for suggestions to improve, etc. **Would like to know the thoughts of the legal community.**Currently the app can:
* Record and generate notes of speech in multiple Indian languages
* Separate speakers based on their voice
* Ask AI to summarise or answer any question about the conversation, etc
* Optional privacy mode to ensure that only the notes are stored and voice cannot be retrieved later -

February 5, 2025 at 7:40 amI think as long as the note taking doesn’t happen ambiently, there won’t be any issue.Something like a voice recording app where you’d have to set it to voice record by pressing a button.

February 5, 2025 at 8:55 amYes, this app works like that. Just place the phone wherever the conversation is happening, and it will take care of the rest.-

February 5, 2025 at 9:24 amThen I think there won’t be any legal implications but I’m not a lawyer. Voice assistants and recording apps have existed for so long, a note taking app to combine AI and voice recording will be helpful in many places.-

February 5, 2025 at 12:27 pmI like the last feature. That’s an important one. But i think lawyers are quite good at absorbing and memorizing details from a convo, that’s a big part of their job. Nevertheless the app sounds like a great idea indeed as long as it doesn’t encroach upon privacy.-

February 5, 2025 at 12:46 pmThanks! To protect privacy, we also expect the user to take consent and the app will play โrecording startedโ sound when it starts recording.-
