**Hi everyone,**
**I recently got a job offer from a private company and Iβm a bit anxious about the background verification process.**
**There is a pending court matter against me related to a family dispute from some time back. Itβs not related to work, fraud, finance, or anything like that, and there has been no conviction.**
**I wanted to understand how private companies usually view these situations during hiring/BGV. If anyone has experience with HR, hiring, or similar situations, Iβd really appreciate some guidance.**
**Mainly wondering:**
* **how common it is for pending personal disputes to affect hiring,**
* **whether companies care more about conviction vs pending matter,**
* **and how people usually handle disclosure professionally.**
**Thanks in advance.**
