Hi. I’m a Delhi based lawyer. A mutual or contested divorce can be filed after a year of marriage, also including one year of separation, barring grave circumstances. Timeline post meeting the above criteria could be between 2 to 6 months, depending on whether the court allows waiver of the 6 month period before filing of second motion.
