Can anyone help me facing a problem on notice period

I work in a company where the project is going to end on 31st march but i have a offer in hand where they are asking me to join on march 1st week,

Even though my project is ending in my current company without future projects or employment they are not releving me early even though i offered a buyout.

Im my contract it says 60 days notice period and the buyout is in discretion to the company to decide.

Since the project is ending with no further work is it right for the employer to hold me for 60 days ???

As i work on contract on hire they are saying its a business impact and im ready to pay it. Do they have the right to hold as this is about my future

Can anyone suggest me the solution ?
