        Hi everyone,

I recently bought an earphone from Blinkit, and upon receiving it, I noticed that the manufacturing date is from Oct 2023, even though it’s already 2025. The product was sold to me as new, but now I feel misled because it’s almost 1.5 years old.

When I reached out to customer support, they informed me that the warranty starts from the date of delivery, and they directed me to the brand’s customer service for any concerns regarding the manufacturing date. However, I feel that Blinkit, as the seller, should be responsible for ensuring the quality and freshness of the product, not just acting as a delivery platform.

I’ve tried to resolve the issue with Blinkit, but they haven’t provided any satisfactory solution, and now I’m considering filing a complaint with the Consumer Forum.

Has anyone faced a similar issue? Can I file a complaint with the Consumer Forum in this case, and what should I include in my complaint to strengthen my case?

Any advice or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

        Thanks in advance!

Bhai, it’s not a food or perishable product where the manufacturing date matters. If they are taking responsibility to provide a warranty starting from the delivery date, then that’s fine. Just make sure to keep the bills safe. Even if you purchase it from a local store, the warranty is considered from the purchase date, not the manufacturing date especially in the case of electronic devices.

The CCE is right here; the warranty of the product starts from the date of purchase. The date of manufacture does not play that significant a role in the case of electronics, as it is often the case that older models are sold at a discount to account for their lack of currentness.
