Can I file an individual trademark all by myself?

I recently checked the Trademark application fees on the Govt. website for online filing and it’s ₹4500 in total. I am trying to test out this process here. I searched for a name that doesn’t exist at all so I think I would have no objection after filing. So, as an individual, can I just proceed ahead on my own? Or are there instances where people deliberately cause issues to extort more money and you definitely need a lawyer?
