February 20, 2025 at 1:14 pmIt’s just that my grandfather is more inclined towards my uncle, cuz he lives in a village along with him and my father had to shift to a city in his early days cuz he was educated.-

February 20, 2025 at 1:29 pmI think the property has to pass on for 4 generations undivided inorder to qualify as ancestral property. If yes then you are right.
Else it becomes personal property and hence can be gifted. -

February 20, 2025 at 1:49 pmIf grandfather had gifted his self acquired property to your uncle, then you or your father doesn’t have any say in it.If your grandfather has gifted a property inherited by him from his father, the you/your father may have a claim over that property as it’s considered ancestral property.
