February 7, 2025 at 1:24 pmCurrent rent is 13k, security paid was 31k.He’s saying going to increase rent to 14k and security to 50k so I have to shell out 20k more.

Can they do that? 50k would be 3 months of security and as far as I know only 2 months of security can he collected.

February 7, 2025 at 1:27 pmthere is no law for renter protection in India, other then what is there in the tenancy agreement. is the rent agreement valid or its a renewal ? so talk it out or find a new place -
