My PayPal account is limited, and they’re asking for PAN verification. My question is that can they demand the photo of physical PAN card only and refuse the DigiLocker PAN even though it says “This digitally signed verification document is valid as per the IT Act 2000 when used electronically.”?
I’m seeing people claiming different things online. Someone said KYC should be done by physical card as per RBI and “PayPal as a company also has policy to ensure proper standards”. But others say that ePAN is just as valid as a physical card. If so, **do they have a legal basis to refuse ePAN in favor of photo of physical card**?
Any help or explanation, along with precise legal references, is greatly appreciated.
