I (27M) and my second cousin (28F) have developed deep feelings for each other over time(5 years). Neither of us planned it or pursued it intentionally — it just happened.

Some context:

∙ We are second cousins (not first cousins)

∙ Both Hindu, from Haryana

∙ We have never been in a physical relationship, nor have we labeled anything officially

∙ She has depression and anxiety and feels emotionally safe around me

∙ We genuinely care for each other and are considering marriage

My questions:

1. Is marriage between second cousins legally allowed in Haryana/North India?

2. Has anyone navigated this with family? How did it go?

3. Any practical advice?
