QWe have a land in Tripura. We had it’s sales deed a month or so ago but somehow it got lost during travel. My mother is the power of attorney, and my grandmother is the landowner. I have looked it up and found the steps we need to follow to create a duplicate, as in, FIR, Newspaper clippings, etc. However, we have some questions:
1) Can my mother as the PoA go alone and make a duplicate sales-deed at the sub-registrar office?
My mother cannot travel with my grandmother. Though she (grandmother) can function usually, she needs physical help at every step due to severe anxiety when outside. We tried to hire someone last time, but it didn’t end well.
2) The FIRs and newspaper publishing needs to be done in Tripura newspaper itself? Can I expect something that can be done in Mumbai?
3) How long should the process take? What will be the approximate cost of doing so?
We don’t live there so we want to make it as short as possible to avoid unnecessary expenses.
4) Should we expect bribery to be involved in the process?
