January 28, 2025 at 2:25 pmHi everyone,I wish to seek suggestions on correcting my sister’s Date of Birth (DOB). Her real DOB is September 26, 1999, but my father has mistakenly recorded it as 1996. This is incorrect as my brother was born in the same year (1996), and they are not twins. My brother’s birthday is in December of that year.
The real issue is that the incorrect DOB is mentioned on all her certificates. Additionally, we do not have a birth certificate issued by a hospital as my sister was born in a very small village with the assistance of a traditional birth attendant (aaya).The reasons for wanting to correct this are:
* To defer early retirement
* To facilitate marriageTherefore, I kindly request your suggestions on how to proceed with this correction.

January 28, 2025 at 3:11 pmTo correct your sister’s DOB, start by filing an affidavit with a notary declaring the correct date and explaining the error. Gather supporting evidence like witness statements, village records, or childhood health records. Approach the local municipal office to update or issue a new birth certificate. Once done, use the corrected document to apply for changes in her educational certificates through the respective boards. If challenges persist, consider seeking a court order to formalize the correction.-
